Title: Spirit

Text: Acts 2:1-13

1. Are you someone who is generally comfortable with mystery and unpredictability, or do you prefer things to feel clear, ordered, and under control?

2. Can you remember a time when something unexpected changed the direction of your life in a meaningful way? Looking back, can you see God's Spirit at work in that transition?

3. What image, phrase, or story from the message "Affirming: Spirit" stayed with you? What did it make you want to discuss?

4. Read Acts 2:1-13 aloud. What details of this scene stand out to you most: the wind, the fire, the languages, the crowd's reaction, or something else? What does the description say to you about God's presence and movement?

5. Which parts of this Pentecost story feel energizing or hopeful to you, and which parts feel strange, unsettling, or hard to understand?

6. Read John 14:15-27 aloud. Jesus promises the Spirit as Advocate, Helper, and Abiding Presence. What do these words suggest about how the disciples would experience God after Jesus was gone?

7. Pentecost is marked by many languages being heard and understood. What might this teach us about the Spirit's work in creating connection, understanding, and unity across human barriers?

8. Read Galatians 5:22-25 aloud. Paul describes the fruit of the Spirit as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Which of these qualities do you most long for the Spirit to grow in you right now?

9. If we truly affirm the Holy Spirit as God still moving among us, where might we need to become more open, more attentive, or more willing to be led beyond our comfort?

10. How might your group pray for you this week as you seek to listen for and respond to the Spirit's movement?
