Series: Beauty in Brokenness: An Easter Experience

Title: Witness

Text: Matthew 28:1-10

1. When you have incredible news to share, do you typically tell everyone immediately, wait until the moment is right or keep it quiet for a while?

2. Think of a time when hope appeared in the middle of a difficult season. What helped you recognize that something new or good was beginning?

3. In the message Beauty in Brokenness: Witness, what stood out to you most? Did an idea, image or story help you think differently about resurrection or about being a witness?

4. Read Matthew 28:1-10. What details catch your attention? The earthquake? The angel? The empty tomb? The women's reactions? Jesus' words? Why do these details matter? What do they communicate?

5. The women leave the tomb "with fear and great joy" and run to tell the other disciples. Why do you think these two emotions appear together? What might their response teach us about encountering something holy or surprising?

6. Both the angel and Jesus tell the women to "go and tell." Why do you think sharing the story becomes such an important part of the resurrection moment?

7. Read Luke 24:13-16, 30-35. In this story, the disciples on the road to Emmaus don't recognize Jesus right away. What helps them finally see and understand what has happened? How do you experience resurrection in your own life?

8. Read Acts 1:6-8. Jesus tells the disciples they will be his witnesses. What do you think it means to be a witness, not just to an event long ago, but to the presence of Christ in the world today?

9. If witnessing can simply mean noticing and sharing where you see life, hope or grace, where might God be inviting you to pay closer attention this week?

10. How might this group pray for you as you seek to notice and share signs of new life in the days ahead?
